On Wednesday night, the Earth will witness an unprecedented celestial phenomenon, the green comet, which only happens once every 50,000 years!

Space scientists have announced that the green comet, more officially known as C/2022 E3 (ZTF) , will soon fly through our skies.
Some of the mysteries of planet and our solar system could be hidden in the form of this comet, covered in ice, gas and dust and currently visible in the northern hemisphere.
On Wednesday, Dr Rebecca Allen of the Swinburne Institute of Space Technology and Industry told the ABC that this green comet likely passed through the outermost regions of our solar system.
After a close encounter with the Sun in early January, the comet is now within our planet's field of view.
Dr Allen said that due to the sun's ultraviolet radiation melting the comet's gases and ice, its mass appears a bright green color. This phenomenon also shoots out a magnificent tail of debris.

The comet's emerald hue is a result of an exceptional type of carbon it hosts. According to Dr. Allen, the comet's ingredients will allow researchers to discover answers about the process of acquiring water and life on Earth, as well as the formation history of the planets in our solar system.
Although some may feel concerned about its proximity to our planet, scientists have assured that viewing the asteroid is completely safe, as it remains a hundred times farther than moon .
On February 1st, those of us in the southern hemisphere will have the unique opportunity to witness an awe-inspiring spectacle that will remain visible for days afterward.
