Meta has just unveiled its long-awaited “Candid Stories” feature – an Instagram clone of BeReal that allows users to post selfies once a day. In an initial test launch, this incredible new feature will debut in South Africa for the first time!
Since its launch in 2020, BeReal has steadily gained a loyal fan base among both teens and users Gen Z. Its unique approach to social media sets it apart from other mainstream sites, as posts are limited to one per day and interaction between users is also kept to a minimum. With this promise of authenticity, more and more people are turning to BeReal for an honest digital experience on social media platforms.
Instagram 's Candid is similar to BeReal in that it allows users to see their friends' candid selfies only after they've uploaded their own. Both the front and back cameras of a device will be used simultaneously to capture these candid moments. Once a day, Instagram will challenge you with your own selfie challenge!

While Notes is significantly different from Twitter feeds , its use case could be similar, as the company categorized it as a way for users to share “what they’re up to” or ask for advice. Currently, when you compose a tweet in the app, there’s a prompt that asks “What’s up?” It also, like Notes , has a limited text input limit.
Instagram is further innovating by allowing users to come closer together. With “Group Profiles,” individuals can create connected profiles with multiple contributors, while they’re also experimenting with a new feature referred to as “collaborative collections,” which allows multiple people to post content in one central space!
