Before the critical holiday period, Foxconn (HNHPF) – the iPhone factory in China – must follow some of the strictest COVID-19 rules, while also ensuring that deliveries of Apple (AAPL) products are not disrupted.

The Taiwanese company, which is battling to control the Covid-19 pandemic at its massive campus in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou, is rehiring staff and offering bonuses to recently resigned staff, according to a statement posted on one of the company's WeChat accounts.
A day after Apple said iPhone 14 shipments would be delayed due to China's coronavirus lockdowns, Foxconn issued the statement. The Zhengzhou facility, which is the world's largest iPhone factory, has seen "significantly reduced capacity" due to Covid -19.

“Although the pandemic has posed great challenges for us, we have achieved quite a bit in our effort to prevent the pandemic”, said Foxconn on Monday.
Gradually, production and living in the park have been restored, added to the announcement.
The restless workers reportedly left the closed facilities. Videos of people walking out of Zhengzhou have gone viral on Chinese social media in recent days. Foxconn is now stepping up efforts to bring its staff back.
If they return, employees who left between October 10 and November 5 will receive a one-time bonus of 500 yuan (69 dollars), as the company said. According to the post, new employees will be offered an hourly wage of 30 yuan (4 dollars).
Last Wednesday, the Chinese government imposed a seven-day lockdown in the production area where Foxconn's factory is located.

Once the “regional lockdown” is lifted, workers can commute to their jobs, where they will live on the construction site in a closed system, Foxconn said in the WeChat post.
