The Super Nintendo controller is now available for use on Apple devices , making it easier than ever to enjoy classic games. According to MacStories, iOS and tvOS 16.1 now includes support for the classic Nintendo Switch Online controllers .

Nintendo has unveiled four classic controllers for the Nintendo Switch. All four are still available on the Nintendo, but are selling out quickly. You can choose from controllers inspired by the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64 , and SEGA Genesis.

This support wasn't mentioned in Apple's patch notes , but was discovered by users surfing the web. The Super Nintendo controller was discovered to be functional by Steve Troughton-Smith, while Mac Stories later confirmed that the controller is also compatible. The Super Nintendo controller, when in pairing mode, appears as a "SNES Controller," the report says. Similar to the Genesis, it's safe to assume that NES controllers would work in a similar way.

The iOS update in June added the ability to use Nintendo Switch controllers on Apple devices, so now you have a wide variety of options to choose from. This follows in the footsteps of Steam, which also supports Nintendo controllers.
