The well-known hacktivist group Anonymous says it has hacked the National Bank of Iran (Bank Melli) as part of #OpIran (Operation Iran) against the Iranian government.

The official website of Bank Melli Iran appears to be inaccessible after the hack.
Anonymous has launched the OpIran campaign against Tehran following the ongoing crackdown on protesters over the death of young Mahsa Amini in Iran . The 22-year-old died while in police custody in Tehran. Police reportedly arrested her for not wearing her hijab properly. Iranian authorities claim that Amini died of natural causes after suffering heart failure. However, this does not seem to have convinced Iranian citizens, who have taken to the streets to protest the young woman’s death.
According to reports, more than 40 people have lost their lives in the protests, including members of the security.

Anonymous is used to showing their disagreement in such incidents, in their own way. In addition to the recent hack of the National Bank of Iran (Bank Melli), Anonymous hacked and defaced the website of the Iranian Criminal Investigation Center and leaked a database containing data 100 MB of
Additionally, the hacktivist group has hacked and leaked the Iranian Assembly database and the Supreme Court of Audit database of Iran and made public numbers phone and other data belonging to all members of the Iranian parliament.
It is also said that many CCTV cameras have been hacked.

Anonymous has launched a full-scale war against Iran, after disrupting the operation of the sites of important Iranian services through DDoS attacks:
- The Iranian Intelligence Service website
- Iran's National Government Portal
- The Iranian police website
- The official website of the Central Bank of Iran
- The website of the state-owned Sepah Bank of Iran
- The official website of the Office of the Government Spokesperson
- The official website of Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran
- The website of the Iranian state media agency IRIB News Agency
Since this is an ongoing operation (#OpIran) by Anonymous, it is likely that we will see more hacks of Iranian services in the coming hours and days.
