New rumors indicate that new Nvidia cards are expected to be released: RTX 3060 8 GB, RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X and RTX 3070 Ti
Nvidia and its partners appear to be working on at least three more GeForce RTX 30 - series graphics cards , according to Twitter leaker Zed Wang , also known as MEGAsizedGPU . According to this latest rumor, an 8GB RTX 3060, an RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X, and an RTX 3070 Ti based on the GA102 GPU are in the works . However, we believe that the short release of these cards would mean that we still have several months to go before the mid-range GeForce RTX 40 -series (Ada Lovelace) cards hit the market.

If true, the introduction of a new GeForce RTX 3060 with 8GB of RAM could cause the biggest upset, as the X060 is often the most popular SKU of any generation. Of course, this new model will have less VRAM than the original (12GB is cut to 8GB), but there's no evidence of any other spec changes. In the worst case scenario, Nvidia could reduce the bus from 192-bit to 128-bit for 8GB, reducing both the memory limit and bandwidth. Without balancing it out in some other way (CUDA cores, clocks, memory speeds), it would simply be inferior to the RTX 3060 that's currently on sale, and it would be a change that would draw heavy fire from enthusiasts.

A more positive change could come in the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, if Zed Wang's information is correct. This model is said to receive a significant memory speed upgrade. It will move from 8 GB of 14 Gbps GDDR6 to the same quota, using 19 Gbps GDDR6X. Considering this information, we should expect about a 35% boost in memory bandwidth.
Last but not least, there is expected to be a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti that will utilize the GPU . This GPU powers Nvidia, which it seems eager to replace soon. Perhaps there are buckets full of GA102 GPUs with enough cores to power the new RTX 3070 Ti. Such economics are often the reason behind production restarts like this.

Nvidia is almost certain to launch its first Ada Lovelace -based GPUs during a special GeForce Beyond event a week from Tuesday. However, it's very ambitious and common for Nvidia to start production for premium consumers and then taper off to the rest of the consumer market over the coming months. With Ampere , things have been very protracted, with the journey from the GeForce RTX 3090 to the RTX 3060 taking five months, not to mention the RTX 3050 (add another 11 months).

So, at GeForce Beyond on September 20th, we expect the RTX 4090 , and possibly some details on pricing and availability. If we're lucky, we'll get similar information about the GeForce RTX 4080 and RTX 4070.
Tom 's Hardware recently warned against buying the high-end Ampere series. Meanwhile, Nvidia and its partners are pushing the RTX 3080 with price drops.
