According to WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, the instant messaging app is getting a new feature that will allow group admins to delete any message for everyone.

According to the report, the feature is set to allow group admins to better monitor. The feature appears to be rolling out to users worldwide and will show all group members that an admin has deleted a message. While WhatsApp has yet to officially announce the feature, a report from WABetaInfo says it may be rolling out to beta testers.

To check whether you have received the feature or not, simply go to any group you belong to and long press on any message. If there is an option to delete the message, it means you have received the feature. If not, the feature will be rolling out soon. Apparently, WhatsApp is testing the feature with a small number of users.
The WABetaInfo report also showed screenshots of the feature. There's a new "Delete message" option, clicking on which will bring up a pop-up that says, "As an admin, you are deleting (group's) message for everyone in this chat. They will see that you deleted the message." Once you go ahead and delete the message, it will appear the way deleted messages appear on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp recently updated the time limit for deleting messages to 2 days and 12 hours. Earlier, WhatsApp only allowed a user to delete messages sent an hour ago. The company now allows you to delete messages within two days of sending them.
This feature could be useful for controlling activity in a group. With this feature, admins could be held accountable in case of serious issues as admins will have more authority over the content shared in the Whatsapp group.
