As confirmed by the BBC, Doctor Who's 60th anniversary celebration will take place in 2023 and will feature David Tennant and Catherine Tate, as the 10th Doctor and Donna Noble.

Although Tennant and Tate have regularly collaborated on audio adventures with Big Finish since their departure from the series in 2010's " The End of Time ," the 2023 anniversary will see Tennant return as the Doctor on screen for the first time since the 2013 50th anniversary special, " The Day of the Doctor ." As for Tate, it will be her first reappearance since her departure at the end of the show's fourth season in 2008, with " Journey's End ." The first episode also sees the return of Russell T Davies as the next presenter of Doctor Who.
Tennant and Tate's collaborations extend beyond Doctor Who. The pair worked together on a stage version of Much Ado About Nothing in 2011 , and Tennant also appeared on The Catherine Tate Show.

The newly announced 14th Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, is set to appear at the climax of outgoing star Jodie Whittaker's final episode, which is set to air in late 2022. He was announced as the final Doctor on Sunday, May 8. Gatwa will likely play some role in the 60th anniversary special. Although how big that role is is still uncertain, given the recently announced returns of Tennant and Tate.

Davies seems to have announced in a press release. “Maybe this is a story . Or a parallel world. Or a dream or a trick or a flashback. The only thing I can confirm is that it’s going to be spectacular, as two of our biggest stars reunite for the fight of a lifetime.”
Doctor Who returns to BBC One and BBC America later this year.
