Ukraine: The Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces and two of the country's state-owned banks, Privatbank and Oschadbank, are under Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks.
Ukraine's Cyberpolice reportedthat bank customers received messages claiming that ATMs were out of service. Experts said thesewere "part of an information attack and did not correspond to reality."

The Ministry of Defense in Ukraine experienced problems with its site after the attacks and stated that “its website was probably subjected to a DDoS attack: an excessive number of requests per second was recorded.”
“ Starting from the afternoon of February 15, 2022, there is a powerful DDOS attack on a number of Ukrainian entities ,” the State Information Protection Service of Ukraine added
“In particular, this caused disruptions in the work of the online services of Privatbank and Oschadbank. The websites of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also attacked“.
The Ministry of Defense website was down. The Oschadbank and Privatbank websites were accessible, but customers are having trouble logging into their online banking accounts.

The Ukrainian Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security said that Privatbank users reported problems with payments and the bank's mobile app.

Some added that they were unable to access their bank accounts online, while others saw incorrect balances and recent transactions.
On Monday, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) said the country is the target of a "massive wave of hybrid warfare" aimed at causing anxiety and undermining Ukrainians' trust in the state and its ability to defend them.
The SSU added that it has already faced several such attempts linked to hostile intelligence services and dismantled bots that targeted Ukrainian citizens with bomb threats and fake news designed to spread panic.

The country's Computer Emergency Response Team warned of attacks against Ukrainian authorities, coordinated by the hacking group Gamaredon.
The SSU added that in January 2022 it blocked more than 120 cyberattacks targeting Ukrainian state institutions.
