According to experts, consumers are being targeted via Google 's email service , as well as Outlook, with emails falsely claiming to offer free gift cards to those who complete a survey.
The alarming alert comes via Which?,which urged anyone who receives such emails to delete them immediately.
Such scam messages were first detected in June, with a large number of fake messages being sent in the following months.
Unfortunately, the emails – which pretend to be from leading UK supermarkets, including Tesco and ASDA – look authentically like official logos intended to scam people.
George Martin, Conversation Editor at Which?, said: “In June we covered a fake email purporting to be from Sainsbury’s promising a £90 promo reward for taking part in a marketing survey. Sainsbury’s confirmed it had nothing to do with it.”

The news comes after cybersecurity experts issued a warning about a text message scam that steals people's passwords and banking details.
According to ZDNet, scammers posing as Google are targeting phones running the Android, which is owned by the US search giant.
The texts falsely claim that the recipient's mobile phone is infected with malware and tell them to download a security update.
However, when the user clicks on a link in the text, they will be led to their phone being infected with FluBot, a form of Android malware that can steal their personal information.
FluBot is known to steal online passwords, banking details, and other sensitive information associated with infected smartphones.

The malware also uses the compromised device to spread to other victims, adding another link to the infection chain.
The links can be sent to iPhones, although Apple devices are not affected by the malware.
