Just like traditional cable services, YouTube TV must have deals in place to air content. Currently, YouTube TV and Google-owned NBC are having trouble reaching an agreement, which means all of NBC's channels could drop from the service, forcing Google to lower the price.

YouTube TV and NBCUniversal can't agree
These kinds of disagreements are common in this industry. The cable company and a network renegotiate their agreements when they are nearing expiration.
Usually, the two companies manage to meet somewhere in the middle, but that doesn't seem to be the case with YouTube TV and NBC. Google released a statement saying that the current deal is set to expire on September 30th and that the two companies are struggling to come to an agreement.
NBC and YouTube TV's failure to reach an agreement has a silver lining. YouTube TV's price will be reduced by $10 per month until a deal is reached. That will bring the price down to $54.99 per month.
Of course, the trade-off here is that YouTube TV subscribers miss out on a lot of channels. Some of the big ones include NBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, Bravo, CNBC, and Telemundo.

For its part, NBC has informed subscribers about what is happening. The publication states the following:
We would like to inform YouTube TV customers that YouTube may lose 14+ channels, including NBC, Telemundo, USA, SYFY, Brave, Oxygen, MSNBC, NBCSN, CNBC, GOLF Channel, and E!. Go to YouNeedChannels.com and tell YouTube TV not to leave your favorite channels.
According to a report from Variety, NBCU is asking for higher rates for its channels.
In a statement to Variety, NBCUniversal said: “Unfortunately, Google is refusing to make a fair deal. NBCUniversal feels a responsibility to inform our fans that they risk losing their favorite shows if Google continues with its unreasonable demands.”

Will YouTube TV lose NBC channels?
These types of disputes are common and are usually resolved before channels are removed. Both sides are publicly positioning themselves in an attempt to curry favor with the public while negotiating behind the scenes. There are only a few days left until September 30, 2021, so hopefully the two companies can come to an agreement so that YouTube TV subscribers can keep the channels they enjoy.
