As the OnePlus brand recently revealed that it is merging with the OPPO company, a new leaked memo has revealed that the former will become a sub-brand of the latter.

The two companies haven't revealed how closely they will be integrated, but a tweet from a well-known tipster revealed the internal memo leaked from OnePlus' PR team, GizmoChina reported.
The memo explains the integration of the two companies, stating that “with the integration, OnePlus becomes a sub-brand of OPPO, however, it will continue to operate as an independent entity.”.
The note also added that OnePlus CEO Pete Lauwill become chief product officer at OPPO, while also being responsible for product strategies and Chinese smartphone brands.

In other words, the note confirmed that OnePlus will be part of OPPO, the report said.
“By merging both companies, we will have more resources available to create even better products. It will also allow us to be more efficient in our operations,” the note states.
Recently, in an official announcement, Lau said that it will allow them to be more efficient, for example, by bringing faster and more stable software updates to OnePlus users.
Last year, he announced that he had taken on some additional responsibilities overseeing product strategy for both OnePlus and OPPO.

"I am confident that this change will be positive for our community and our users. With this deeper integration with OPPO, we will have more resources at our disposal to create even better products for you," Lau said earlier.
However, he also said that the OnePlus brand will continue to operate independently, focusing on providing the best possible products and experience as always.
