Driving safety is equally important in our time, since many accidents are the result of distraction due to mobile phones.
In recent years, however, there has been a new technology that can reduce the risk of accidents, while at the same time keeping us in touch with our favorite device.
Apple product enthusiasts may have heard of this technology, known as Apple Carplay .
It is a software released in 2014 that allows the transfer of some basic features and functions of the iPhone and the iOS operating system to the screen of a car. In essence, it is the combination of convenience and safety.
You can put your iPhone aside, but still have secure access to essential apps like Messages, Phone, Music, and Maps.
CarPlay supports all iPhones starting with iPhone 5, running iOS 7.1 or later. It also requires access to a car system or head unit that supports CarPlay. Siri must also be enabled on your phone for the software to work in your car.

There are two ways to get Apple CarPlay. You can either buy a car with CarPlay built-in or buy a head unit that you can install in your vehicle. While buying a new vehicle is clearly the easiest way to get CarPlay, it's not as practical, especially if you don't already have a car in mind. The other option for adding CarPlay to an older car is to have the system installed in the vehicle.
Once you connect your device via Lightning or wirelessly, all compatible apps stored on the device are presented as they would be on your iPhone screen.
You can select apps by tapping on them using your car's touchscreen or using physical controls.
In addition to the app icons, you can also see the time, the strength of the available network, and there's even an icon that mirrors the "home" button found at the bottom of iDevices.
Apple CarPlay performs many of the same functions as an iPhone.
Drivers can use the software to follow directions, make calls, send and receive text messages, and listen to music.
There are currently more than 600 car models compatible with CarPlay from many well-known manufacturers. These include Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Citroen, Ferrari, Fiat, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Volkswagen, Volvo and many more.

CarPlay certainly has many benefits to offer compared to a classic car mount for your phone. One of them is its larger screen and simpler interface, which are certainly easier to use while driving. It allows you to make calls and change songs more easily without taking your eyes off the road. If you use navigation a lot, the CarPlay system offers you even more convenience. Navigation uses a lot of energy, as does the battery. In case you use your phone in a car mount, it can overheat quite easily.
In many ways, it's much safer to use CarPlay while driving than if you were using your phone directly, even if you didn't have it in your hand.
So, if you're thinking about buying a new car, you might want to seriously consider choosing a model that's compatible with the CarPlay system.
