Kia Motors Australia vehicle owners are being urged to contact the company, as a fault has been identified in some car models that could put drivers' lives at risk. The company is in the process of recalling the affected cars . The models affected are the Kia QL Sportage MY2016-2021 and Kia CK Stinger MY2017-2019 . The problem with the cars is that there is a risk catching fire of the engine even if the car is not being used.
About a month ago, Kia was forced to recall 147,249 Soul and Seltos vehicles. And in that case, there was a risk of fire.

According to the Product Safety Australia, the Kia QL Sportage MY2016-2021 and CK Stinger MY2017-2019 can catch fire even if the vehicle is not running.
About 57,000 people across Australia have a Kia car with this problem.
The system (Hydraulic Electronic Control Units) that controls the Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Control System and Traction Control System may experience a short circuit if it comes into contact with water (moisture). This can then cause an engine fire when the engine is turned off and the vehicle is parked.
Those who own these cars are urged to park them away from their homes and certainly away from anything flammable.
Consumers are urged to contact their local Kia dealer to have the vehicle inspected and repaired (if necessary).
Inspections and repairs will be done free of charge .
Kia is trying to contact all vehicle owners who may be experiencing a problem with their car.

Many car companies have recalled cars due to fire hazards
Kia is not the only car company to have identified such problems.
