The new virtual reality version of the video game for the Oculus Quest 2 was announced yesterday at the Resident Evil Showcase. This version will be a brand new take on Resident Evil 4, taking the third-person experience to a first-person perspective. In the game, the player takes on the role of Leon Kennedy, who travels to Europe to rescue the President's daughter in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.

The first demo of the video game showed off some interesting gameplay. First, players would be able to use knives and guns at the same time, and also interact with objects in the environment in realistic ways, like turning knobs and typing on typewriters. There's even a VR version of the classic inventory system. This new version was developed by Armature.

That's all the details we know about the game. More details will be revealed at next week's Oculus Gaming Showcase, which airs on April 21st at 1 p.m. ET. There are no release date details yet, and the Quest is the only confirmed platform that will be compatible with the new VR version of Resident Evil 4.

Although Resident Evil 4 VR leaked a few months ago, it wasn't the virtual reality version of the Resident Evil game that most fans were expecting. Resident Evil 8 is coming out next month, and as a follow-up to the Resident Evil 7 , fans were hoping that it would include some form of VR support. However, that doesn't seem to be the case, at least for now.
