Sony may not be one of the top smartphone brands in the world, but the company still makes some very good quality phones. More importantly, despite low sales and stiff competition, the company is still holding on – unlike LG, which is leaving the smartphone business for good.
Instead of competing with Samsung and Xiaomi in every market and price range, the Japanese smartphone maker has shifted its focus to mainstream markets and only releases premium phones. The company's last flagship, the Xperia 1 II, was released last February. We've been hearing rumors about Sony's next flagship since January, and it looks like it's coming soon.

Sony has updated the banner on its YouTube channel, which confirms an Xperia product announcement coming later this month. The online launch event is scheduled for April 14th and will start at 16:30 JST and 9:30 CEST. The event will be streamed live on the YouTube . While Sony has not officially confirmed what will be released at this event, it is rumored that the company will unveil the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 10 III.

According to famous leaker Zibkbucks, the Sony Xperia 1 III will feature a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888, a triple-camera system with a 64MP primary, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a periscope lens with zoom capabilities, 12GB of RAM, a 5,000mAh battery, and 65W fast charging support.

We don't know much about the Xperia 10 III, however, a leak from Steve Hemmerstoffer revealed that the device could feature a 6.0-inch flat display, a triple camera system, dual speakers, a 3.5mm jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
