BMW today unveiled the BMW i4, its new electric vehicle, and confirmed that it will have a range of up to 300 miles under the EPA standard.
After the German automaker brought the BMW i3 to the market in 2013, we thought it would release the BMW i4, i5 and so on, but things didn't quite work out that way.
It took BMW seven years to bring another electric vehicle to market, the BMW iX3. But now it looks like the BMW i4 is on the way.
Today, as part of the BMW Group's annual conference, the automaker decided to unveil the vehicle, which was not supposed to be revealed publicly for a few months.

However, it did not make a full disclosure with all the specifications and features. That will come in the coming weeks.
For now, BMW is releasing a few details such as the fact that the BMW i4 will be offered in different versions that will allow for a range of "up to 590km (WLTP) and up to 300 miles (EPA)" based on their own estimates.

It will have a power output of up to 390kW / 530HP, which will allow acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in around four seconds.

BMW calls the i4 a "fully electric four-door Gran Coupé" and confirmed today that it "will enter the market during 2021," along with a BMW M Performance variant.
Along with the BMW iX, the i4 is expected to be Germany's new flagship electric vehicle this year. More details about the BMW i4's features and interior are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
