Microsoft has released Windows 10 Preview Build 4571744 to address an issue that caused the Windows Update service to become unresponsive when customers checked for updates.
With the update “2020-08 Preview of Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 (KB4571744)”, the build number for Windows 10 became 19041.488.
Update KB4571744 also fixes a bug that causes Windows File Explorer to crash when browsing folders with raw images and other file.
This update also fixes bugs that prevent apps from opening or downloading updates in certain scenarios, as well as another bug that causes a time delay when opening Windows apps
Users who have not yet installed the latest update KB4570334 (SSU) should download and install the SSU via the Microsoft Update Catalog.
