870 QVO SSD: Samsung Electronics has introduced its new quad-level cell (QLC) solid-state drive (SSD) with up to 8TB of capacity for PC users .
Although the company is known for its premium QVO SSD brands, the series is known for two things: budget -friendly pricing and high capacity . With the new models, the company will play a significant role in the low-cost, high-capacity, and reasonably priced SSD market .
The new 870 QVO SATA SSD comes in 4 versions: 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB with their prices being $130, $250, $500 and $900 respectively.
According to Samsung, its new SSD combines improved performance and larger capacity, and the company emphasized that it is an excellent product for both casual users and professionals.
The QVO story begins in November 2018, with the release of the first low-cost QLC SSD, the 860 QVO, with a capacity of 4TB.
The 870 QVO has sequential write and read speeds of up to 560Mbps and 530Mbps respectively. It also comes with “Intelligent TurboWrite technology,” which adjusts the buffer size to the optimal level it can reach within the available disk space .“ This will allow it to maintain peak performance levels,” according to Samsung.
Also, random speeds will reach 98,000 IOPS (input/output operations per second) and 88,000 IOPS.
Finally, Magician 6to offer a more comfortable experience and the 870 QVO provides a 2,880TB endurance rating in total bytes written.
Importantly, Samsung will also offer a three-year warranty for the 870 QVO SSD.
The company's computer memory business was the biggest contributor to the first quarter's profits, and it is one of the few businesses that, despite the Covid-19, is expected to continue to post strong profits, driven by increased demand in data.
