The first video of Call of Duty 2020, rumored to be called Black Ops Cold War, has just been revealed.
As is the case with all games in the franchise, we saw the player sprint, jump over obstacles, and target potential enemies as a classic camper, as they explore what could be the first exclusive map for Black Ops Cold War. The video could also be nothing more than a well-crafted prank, but it looks very convincing.
It should be noted that the video is 45 minutes long and was taken from a game that is in its pre-alpha version and focuses on a new map called Tank. As is the case with any pre-alpha version, the game will be dramatically different from what we saw in the video when it is finally released. For example, it appears that textures and other graphical elements are completely missing, as well as there are no UI and HUD elements.
Our duty calls
Due to the coronavirus and unrest around the world, Activision has been hesitant to announce the new Call of Duty until now, as the annual franchise prepares for its usual October release.
However, with the world in a state of turmoil, Activision has delayed Season 4 and Season 7 for Modern Warfare and the franchise's Mobile game respectively, so it's unclear when Call of Duty 2020 will be officially announced.
It's safe to say that the famous game will be released this year on Xbox One, PS4 , and PC , and may support PS5 and Xbox Series X as a cross-gen title, like Ghosts when it was released.
We also know that Activision plans to support Call of Duty: Warzone for the foreseeable future, so it's unlikely that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will feature its own dedicated battle royale-style combat mode.
