The new version 3.0 of the Vivaldi browser was recently released, with a built-in tracker blocker created in collaboration with DuckDuckGo.
Like DuckDuckGo's Privacy Essentials add-on, Vivaldi uses the same block list, which is based on data from Tracker Radar, which scans the web to identify trackers to block.
Additionally, version 3.0 of Vivaldi comes with a built-in ad-blocker, which will be disabled by default. The browser already allowed blocking of ads with misleading or malicious content if the user selected the appropriate setting in Vivaldi.
You can customize the settings for both the tracker blocker and the ad-blocker by clicking the shield icon in the address bar.
Additionally, Vivaldi is officially launching the first version of its Android, which has been available in beta since September. The app offers many of Vivaldi’s features, including Speed Dials, which are custom grids of bookmarks and notes that are stored directly in the browser. The Android app will also include Vivaldi’s announced tracker blocker.
According to the company, the Android version of the app will work on phones running Android Lollipop or newer. For more information about Vivaldi's other privacy features, such as how to block cookies or how to block harmful ads, you can follow this link.
