Kali Linux 2020.1a has been released with some changes to the installer , which make installing the distribution even easier for users. The Raspberry Pi version has also been updated, for both 32bit and 64bit devices. In this version, the problem with "broken" files that existed before has been solved.
In previous versions of Kali 2020.1, Offensive security only upgraded the core distributions, for example “Installer” and “Live”, without updating the rest of the distributions.
Note that in the 2020.1a update, the “Installer” now uses “Debian-dc” in the back-end.
“We noticed a bug in the “dependency chain”, which creates a problem with x11, resulting in no graphical interface after installation. For this reason, we have created 2020.1a, which addresses the problem,” says a representative of Offensive security.
Another feature of the new version is that we now have the ability to create a simple user, without him having administrative rights. Also, Kali now has distributions for Vagrant environments, as well as for Pinebook pro.
Please note that 2020.1a is for users who were unable to successfully install 2020.1. If you already have 2020.1, there is no need to reinstall.
