The most popular apps in Microsoft's Office productivity suite will soon be coming to dark mode on iOS, according to the release notes of the latest insider build for Apple's platform.

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote will get a dark theme to go along with new system settings in iOS 13, as Microsoft wants its productivity apps to contribute to a more substantial experience on the iPhone.
Since iOS 13 comes with its own dark mode, when it's enabled when you launch Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote automatically switch to that mode. To return to the original light theme, you'll need to enable the standard UI in those apps.
“Office is easier to read with support for iOS 13’s dark mode. Improved accessibility features combined with an updated user interface help you be productive anywhere,” Microsoft says in the release notes for this new version of Office built for iOS.
The iOS version of Microsoft Office is evolving at an extremely fast pace, and the latest insider builds gave us a sneak peek at the new features in the next major update.
For example, the October 1st update brought new privacy controls, including settings to turn off and on experiences for content analysis, like PowerPoint Designer or Word Editor, as well as features that download content online, like PowerPoint Quick Starter or Office templates.
“We continue our commitment to providing increased transparency and customer control over the data we collect when you use Office apps to keep our products and services secure, up-to-date, and working as expected,” Microsoft.
Keep in mind that the new dark mode is currently only available to Insider build users, but it won't take long for the stable versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote to be updated with the same visual improvements.
