A mysterious outage at Google Cloud, one of the largest cloud service providers on the internet, caused thousands of websites to stop working. Among those pages were Google, but also services that do not belong to the company.
The affected companies included some very big names such as: Snapchat, Vimeo, Shopify, Discord, Pokemon GO, but also many of Google's services, such as YouTube, Gmail, Google Search, G Suite, Hangouts, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Nest and many others.

According to a Google employee, the outage was so severe that it affected the internal tools that Google engineers use to communicate with each other, making recovery even more difficult.
“It appears to be a very serious networking outage,” the Google employee told HackerNews.
“It’s affecting everything, including, unfortunately, the tools that we use to communicate across the company about the outage.”
The problem was related to an outage at Level 3, a US ISP that provides connectivity and various other services to Google's data centers.
In January, a similar outage at Level 3 caused problems with Microsoft's cloud services.
Google Cloud services stopped working for at least four hours and were felt from America to Europe.
The company has now fixed the problem, and promised to release more details about the outage.
