New rumors circulating in recent days suggest that Microsoft could be released in the near future. According to IHS analyst Jeff Lin, the foldable device codenamed "Centaurus" could arrive in the first quarter of 2020.
This statement somewhat clarifies the situation, since previous rumors suggested that the device would arrive sometime in 2019.
Many of you may have heard that the Centaurus will feature a dual-screen display. Furthermore, Lin stated that the device will run Windows Core OS, which will be specially designed for dual-screen devices, also known as Windows Lite. The new Centaurus is likely to become part of Microsoft's Surface line
Each screen on the device will be 9 inches in size and have a 4:3 aspect ratio. It will be powered by Intel's new 10nm Lakefield chips and will feature 5G support for seamless connectivity.
However, the most notable feature of the rumored Centaurus device is that it will offer support for Android and iCloud.
According to Zac Bowden from Window Central, it is possible that Microsoft will introduce Centaurus at its hardware event in October this year.

We just recently heard that Microsoft showcased a dual-screen device at an internal event.
Earlier this year, we saw a few more attempts at foldable devices, a failed attempt by Samsung and also the Mate X from Huawei. It's not just Android devices though, as many Windows-based companies are also working on their own ideas for dual-screen devices, such as Lenovo. However, in this case, Lenovo is adding a single foldable screen instead of two separate ones.
Finally, Intel is another company that has presented an interesting idea for a foldable device. The device's two separate screens can be adjusted to different angles.
