Bitcoin appears to be on an upward trajectory this month, despite the problems it has faced recently.
Bitcoin price reached $6,388 on the Bitstamp exchange in Luxembourg last night. Recall that at the beginning of the year its price was below $4,000. This price makes it dominate the cryptocurrency. Its value constitutes 60% of the total cryptocurrency value, at the moment.
There appears to be a 7% increase in bitcoin over the past three days, despite the loss of 7,000 bitcoins ($40 million) from the attack on Binance, the largest bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange platform.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao discussed the possibility of resetting the blockchain to refund the funds, but many reacted against the idea.
According to Zhao, the hackers were methodical and managed to steal the funds. However, only bitcoin was stolen, not other cryptocurrencies. Similar attacks in the past have shown that the price of the stolen cryptocurrency drops sharply after the attack is announced.
Everyone expected something similar to happen in this case. Contrary to predictions, the price of bitcoin continued its upward trend.
In fact, the upward trend continued after Zhao's proposal to reinstate blockchain, which would bring radical changes to the nature of bitcoin.
Ultimately, the company itself decided that such a thing would not be effective.
But beyond the problems that bitcoin has faced, with attacks and potential rollbacks, there is also some good news.
Until recently, Facebook showed specific ads related to bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and blockchain. But now the social networking platform has decided to remove these restrictions.
Facebook announced that it will continue to let people choose whether they want to see these ads, but this policy will be a little more flexible so that it will no longer require approval to run ads related to blockchain, industry news, education, or cryptocurrency-related events.
