Despite Apple’s efforts to stop the release of jailbreak tools, the Unc0ver team has managed to release a jailbreak tool for devices running iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2. The tool is now available for all pre-A12 CPU devices, meaning it can be used on the following: iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPod Touch 6G, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3, iPad Mini 4, and iPad Mini Air. This is great since the Unc0ver tool was previously only available for devices powered by A8X and A11 CPUs.
Unc0ver Jailbreak for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2
The great thing about this new tool is that it shows that the jailbreak community is here and will be for a long time to come. Apple is doing everything it can to stop developers from creating jailbreak tools, but it seems like they're never going to stop the Unc0ver team.
Cydia and Substrate
Since we're talking about the new tool for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2, which is now available for pre-A12 devices, we have to mention that it introduces Cydia and Substrate. These are two of the most basic features that jailbroken devices benefit from, and the folks at Unc0ver have made sure to incorporate them into their new tool.
Additionally, the support for Cydia and Substrate reveals that the new tool is stable and can be used by iOS fans to download apps that are not available in the iOS store. That's what jailbreaking devices do. They allow you to do whatever you want with an iPhone or iPad without having to worry about the restrictions imposed by Apple.
