Amid reports that Facebook is trying to unify its messaging apps, which happen to be the most popular, it has now allowed page admins to reply to Instagram direct messages directly from their Facebook Page inbox. This would make it easier for them to communicate with their audience across all Facebook-owned platforms.
The announcement was made in a press release for the Facebook Communities Summit, which was attended by more than 400 community leaders at the company's headquarters in Menlo Park. The company announced a set of product updates to help them continue to grow their communities on the world's largest social media platform.
New features added include additional post formatting tools and ways to manage groups, such as how to notify a member when they violate a rule. A pilot program has also been launched that allows groups and brands to collaborate, bringing subscription groups to more partners.
Additionally, Page admins now have the ability to reply to Instagram Direct Messages from their Facebook Page inbox. This could be a step towards the increased integration between Facebook’s services as recently reported. It makes sense for Facebook to allow users to do this, as it ensures they spend more time on its site.
