The nightmare for Windows 10 never ends. After the failed October 2018 update (version 1809) Microsoft released a cumulative update that causes BSOD (blue screen of death) on HP computers.

Windows 10 cumulative update KB4464330 for version 1809 and KB4462919 for the April release (version 1803) caused two HP systems to fall into an endless loop, resulting in a blue screen of death (BSOD) with no easy way to return to normal operation.
Microsoft has already acknowledged the bug and stated that it is working with Hewlett-Packard to deliver a fix, but so far the respective KB pages of the two updates have not been updated with information about this issue.
The official update details for KB4464330 and KB4462919 state that they do not cause any problems on Windows 10 devices, although it is now clear that things are not so rosy.
The observation was started by Windows users who had HP machines and posted in this Microsoft Community Forum thread that many of the HP systems have been affected by the issue after installing these updates (To view the thread you will need to fill in a random name, that does not already exist in their database, without having to verify your details)
From the forum discussions, it seems that only a limited number of HP PCs running Windows 10 version 1809 are likely to be affected by the issue, mainly because that particular version of the operating system has been temporarily retired and not all HPs have had time to update. The bug also exists in the April 2018 Update, which is now running on nearly 90 percent of all Windows 10 devices.
Microsoft has not provided any further information regarding a potential fix and an update that will fix the issue (!!!), although it goes without saying that the company must be working as hard as possible to resolve the issue as soon as possible. For now, uninstalling the unwanted updates seems to be the only way forward for affected users.
