It seems that Apple is repeating the same mistakes it made in 2018, as evidenced by its declining market indices on January 4. According to a report released by the Wall Street Journal, Apple plans to launch three new iPhone models in 2019. The problem is that many of Apple's loyal customers are unwilling to invest in new models from the company, thanks to the excellent performance of older models.
Although Apple has not officially revealed its plans for the release of new models, experts say that if it tries to develop new iPhones, it will have a problem with its sales. This week, sellers in China began selling the iPhone XR model at a 17% discount due to lack of demand from customers. Specifically, the initial price was $ 1036 and the final price was $ 858. According to the company's CEO, Tim Cook, the poor performance of iPhones recorded in the last quarter of 2018 is due to bad trade relations between the US and China. On the contrary, analysts claim that this played a very small role in Apple's poor performance and that the fact that more and more phones from other companies, such as Huawei, are being released, which have just as good features as the iPhones, is very important.
Most seem to agree with the analysts, as the company's success in the past has been due to its innovation in design and technology. Now, there is a tremendous increase in mobile phones and great competition in terms of features, software and performance. Essentially, if Apple wants to stand out again, it needs to think of something more original and not limit itself to improving camera features, because this is something that other mobile phone manufacturers do equally well. The same policy should be followed by other large companies, such as Samsung and LG, which are facing the same issue with their sales.
