All the trolling about the Google Pixel Event aside , we have to admit that there were some interesting things, albeit few. Like Google Duplex support coming to the Google Pixel 3 device, starting next month. There's also an interesting new feature, known as Call Screen.
Let's see however a few more about the two new capabilities of the Google Pixel 3 devices:
Google Duplex
Google first announced Google Duplex back at Google I/O 2018, where it surprised and slightly spooked its audience. The intelligent chatbot is an AI system that automatically selects or makes calls to automate processes like making a restaurant reservation or suggesting the best possible time for a meeting .
In Google I/O 2018, many experts were impressed by the presence of human-like sound effects in Google Duplex conversations, and there is no doubt that the idea of more Duplex capabilities could make us shiver even more.
Google Duplex is coming to the Google Pixel 3 next month. Pixel 3 users will be the first to have the opportunity to test the experimental feature.
Call Screen
Call Screen is a feature of Google Assistant. It allows Google Assistant to answer your incoming calls, and politely asks the intentions of the person calling you.
With the use of the new capability, a real-time copy appears on your screen, giving you the ability to decide whether to take the call or not. When you press the “Call Screen” button, Google Assistant will notify the caller that “you are using a display service from Google”.
The Call Screen feature will prove beneficial for unwanted callers, as Google Assistant will ask the intent of the person calling you. Even after hundreds of call blocking apps, smartphones have not managed to eliminate unwanted callers. However, it appears that Call Screen will help achieve this goal.
It will start rolling out in the US next month. However, it is not clear whether it will be limited to the Pixel 3 or will be pushed to all Pixel phones.
