Google has sent an email to G Suite customers informing them that a new version of Gmail is in the works. The G Suite message didn't include specific details, but it did reveal a few key features coming with the update.

In short, it states:
- A new, clean look for Gmail on the web
- Easy access to G Suite apps, like Google Calendar, from within Gmail
- Smart answers on the Web, just like on mobile
- Ability to “snooze” emails and choose when they will appear in your inbox again.
- Offline messaging support
Google notes that these features will first arrive to registered G Suite customers in a program it calls Early Adopter [EAP], but will also be available to some personal Gmail accounts. We could see the new features in a beta program. Offline email support is scheduled to roll out by June 2018. This means you'll be able to write and read some emails without an internet connection. A Google spokesperson told Android Police:
We're working on some major updates to Gmail (they're still in the design phase). We need a little more time, so we can't share anything yet.
We've been hearing about a Gmail redesign since last year. At the time, Google revealed that it would be adding some new features, such as smart replies, smart groupings, and snooze.
With the redesign of the service, we'll see if anyone sticks with Inbox, as the majority of Gmail users use the app via the browser. It's unclear when exactly the new Gmail design will be released, but bets are that it will be before the end of Google I/O next month.
