While the new iPhones have already leaked and Apple is struggling to contain the leaks, the company's current iPhone 8 is facing some serious issues.
On its official website, Apple issued a warning that some iPhone 8 models have defective logic boards. As a result, these phones may experience issues such as screen freezing, restarting, or inability to turn on the device.
"Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 8 devices contain logic boards with a manufacturing defect," the company said. The iPhone 8 Plus and other models remain unaffected.
What can I do if my iPhone is affected by the problem?
You only need to worry if you purchased the device from September 2017 to March 2018 in India, the US, Japan, Macau, Hong Kong, China, and Australia.
What you need to do is visit this link and enter your iPhone 8 serial number. If your phone proves to be defective, Apple will repair it for free.
After you've checked for the defect, you should find an Apple Authorized Service Provider or make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store for repair. You can also contact Apple Support.
It's worth noting that Apple won't take care of your device if it already has some damage, like a cracked screen. In such cases, you'll need to troubleshoot the problem and then repair the logic board.
