HP has just released the Omen 15 Gaming Laptop (2018), this time promoting improvements that cover more than just the hardware department.
The parent company has focused not only on making the laptop faster, but also more visually appealing, so compared to the previous generation, it is said to be 7.4% less wide and almost 5% thinner. HP wanted to make it a bit easier to carry, so the top model with GTX 1060 and 1070 graphics weighs just 2.4 kg.
The new Omen laptop also features modern touches, such as significantly smaller bezels. For example, the 15.6-inch top bezel is said to be about 35% smaller, while the side bezels have been reduced by 65%.
In terms of hardware, the new laptop is a beast, and it makes sense since it's aimed specifically at gamers. Power comes from Intel's 8th generation processors, and the top-of-the-line configuration features a six-core i+ chip, which can be paired with up to 32GB of RAM.
For this generation, HP has chosen NVIDIA's GPU GTU 1070 Max-Q, which is VR-ready and features G-SYNC, and storage comes in the form of various combinations such as SSD, HDD, SSD and HDD, or HDD + Intel Optane memory. The display supports up to 4K at 60Hz, as well as 1080p at 144Hz.
There is also a complex cooling system that uses dynamic bearing fans that were designed to be larger and thus dissipate heat more effectively.
We don't need to tell you that the HP Omen 15 won't be cheap. The base configuration will be available starting July 29th for $979, but for the ultimate gaming experience, you'll definitely want to buy the top-of-the-line configuration with a 4K display that retails for $1,699.
