If you think the iPhone X is too cheap for your tastes and you're looking for something more sophisticated, Caviar has the perfect model for you.
A limited-edition iPhone X covered in 24-karat gold and bearing not the Applebut the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin is now available starting at $4,700, and goes up to $5,000 if you choose the model with 256GB of storage.
The phone is adorned with a portrait of Putin himself instead of the Apple logo, as well as text that reads "The Golden Age of Vladimir Putin.".
As the company explains, the phone was “created in honor of Vladimir Putin’s victory in the 2018 elections” and combines many Russian symbols, such as a detailed image of the Kremlin. At the bottom of the phone, Caviar also added a Russian quote that reads “We are committed to a better future and we will achieve it.”
Only 76 units will be produced, according to statements from the company, as a way of celebrating the 76% of Russians who voted for Vladimir Putin in this year's elections.
If you're not a fan of Vladimir Putin, no problem. Caviar also recently announced a limited-edition iPhone with a portrait of Donald Trump on the back, as a thank you to the US President for his positive response to Putin's election victory.
Rumor has it that iPhone X sales are very low, so Apple needs as much advertising and promotion as possible from third parties. The biggest problem for the company is not so much that the anniversary model did not skyrocket its profits, as it had expected, but that it reduced them dramatically.
