Are you addicted to selfies? And who isn't these days!
For that purpose, you'll want a phone that's versatile, like Sony's new Xperia XA 2 Ultra, just announced at CES 2018. The new Android has two front-facing cameras – a regular wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle for taking better photos of your whole group.
Sony's Android phones are usually a huge snooze-fest (they've basically made every wrong move in recent years), but the XA2 Ultra really has something that few phones have.
While most phones only have one wide-angle camera on the front, Sony's new phone has a 16-megapixel 80-degree wide-angle camera and a secondary shooter with a 120-degree field of view.
Anyone who knows anything about selfies will tell you how useful an ultra-wide camera is. You can include more friends in group selfies (groufie?) or capture the background when taking photos alone.
The XA2 Ultra also has a built-in LED flash to help you better illuminate yourself. Additionally, Sony has created a slow sync flash mode that will brighten the background of your night selfies.
Taking selfies is one thing it will come in handy for, but the 120-degree camera could also be really useful for budding vloggers who don't want to lug around a heavy camera and tripod.
The XA2 Ultra's features are pretty good for a "mid-range" phone.
It includes a large 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, a Snapdragon 630 processor with 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, a microSD card slot for storage expansion, and a large 3580mAh battery.
Sony has also finally added a fingerprint sensor to the phone (on the back this time). And it also has a headphone jack!
The XA2 Ultra looks like a solid phone, especially if you really like taking selfies. The phone will be released in February. Pricing is still unknown, but we hope it will be reasonable.
