Patch Tuesday with 4 new cumulative updates

Patch Tuesday: Microsoft has just released four new cumulative updates for Windows 10. The updates come as part of Patch Tuesday, the company's regular updates that focus primarily on security improvements. Patch Tuesday

What's coming with the new Patch Tuesday

The four new updates are: KB4041676 (1703), KB4041691 (1607), KB4041689 (1511), and KB4042895 (RTM).

The RTM cumulative update is only available to businesses that are still receiving support for the original version of Windows 10. For consumers, Microsoft has already stopped updates, which means that upgrading to a later build of Windows is required to receive cumulative updates.

Then, version 1511, also known as the November Update, will receive the latest cumulative update for consumers, while Microsoft will continue to support businesses, as was the case with RTM.

The current supported versions of Windows 10 are the Anniversary Update (1607) and the Creators Update (1703), while Microsoft is also set to release the next version, the Fall Creators Update (1703), probably next week.

It should be noted that cumulative updates increase in size every month, but if your system is already up to date, only the latest changes will be downloaded and installed.

For system administrators who don't use Windows Update to keep their systems patched, Microsoft is sending out delta updates, which are cumulative updates that include only the changes introduced since the previous update. These packages will be published soon to the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Cumulative updates require a system restart. So far we are not aware of any issues installing the updates, but it's never too late..
