iPhone 8: What you need to know about defective batteries

As we have previously reported, some iPhone 8 units are experiencing battery issues with at least seven confirmed cases in various parts of the world including Canada, Greece, China, and Hong Kong. iPhone 8

Although Apple has not mentioned the possible causes of the incidents, it is still investigating and examining the devices to be able to understand what could have caused this breakdown.

However, since the giant is still investigating the situation, it means that it has understood the magnitude of the problem and is taking seriously the incidents which could be an indication of a more widespread condition affecting a large number of iPhone 8 Plus units.

According to reports, the iPhone 8 Plus either shipped with a swollen battery or the battery swelled during the first charge, causing the screen to separate from the rest of the device.

There may have been reports of explosions or fires, but owning a smartphone with a swollen battery is not pleasant at all.

Let's not forget, moreover, that last year Samsung was forced to recall an entire line of smartphones because the Galaxy Note 7 had a very bad battery. Due to overheating, the battery in several devices swelled, causing them to burst into flames, often causing injuries to their owners.

As is typical of Apple, it hasn't provided any further details about how dangerous the defective iPhone 8 Plus batteries could be, but we hope the company will share the results of its investigation in the coming days.
