Red Hat may be planning to be the leading private cloud company, but that doesn't mean it's giving up its leadership in Linux. On the evening of August 1, the company announced the general availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.4.
Red Hat has announced the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.4, the latest updated version of its enterprise Linux distribution. Of course, every RHEL release is considered a big event, due to the company's slow development cycle.
This release focuses on security from existing threats:
“Red Hat, Inc. today announced the general availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4, the latest release of its leading enterprise Linux platform.
To reduce the complexity of IT technologies while improving security and workload performance.
The update provides a powerful, flexible operating system backbone to address business IT needs across physical servers, virtual machines, and hybrid, public, and multi-cloud footprints. More innovation in software security to prevent breaches and more proactive vulnerability management.
Innovation starts with the operating system, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4 brings new and improved features.”

Those of you who want to try out the new update can download the 30-day trial version of RHEL 7.4 available on the Red Hat customer portal (registration required).
Personally, I will wait for the CentOS which theoretically appears about a month after the RHEL update.
