Apple announced the new iOS 11 at WWDC 2017

As expected, Apple announced iOS 11 today at WWDC 2017. The new mobile operating system brings some significant changes.

The new Apple Pay in iOS 11 will now let you make one-to-one payments. It's built right into iMessage, from where you'll be able to send money to your friends.iOS 11

Meanwhile, Siri is getting a new update. The digital assistant's voice has been improved using machine learning to sound a little more human (ironic?). It can also translate entire sentences into different languages, although this feature is still in beta.

One big visual change is that Apple has unified the lock screen and notification center. Swiping down from the top of the screen will bring up your lock screen, but you can also swipe up to access the full list of notifications.

The photos also had a few updates:

Live Photos let you choose the best frame to use.
Apple can now create live photo loops using machine learning.
You can also use new machine learning tools to capture images that require long periods of stillness without the need for a tripod.

Apple has reportedly added a few more features to the Maps app. Specifically, Apple is adding markets and airports, with detailed maps. At airports, for example, you can easily see security areas.

Add 'Do Not Disturb While Driving.'

But the biggest update that the new iOS 11 brings is (finally) the file manager. Previously, if you needed a file manager or file manager you had to jailbreak your iPhone.

That's how Apple is, it's slow but it gets the job done...
