LG is currently promoting its G6 flagship, which the South Korean company announced earlier this year during Mobile World Congress in February. In the meantime, the company is working on an upcoming smartphone, which will feature an OLED display.

Reports out of Korea suggest that LG is ready to make the leap from LCD to OLED displays in its smartphones. The move would be a natural one, given that the company has one of the most competitive display divisions out there.
The LG V30 will be LG's first smartphone to feature an OLED display and will arrive sometime in September this year. LG's next flagship will be announced next year and will be called the G7.
The report also says that the V30 will be LG's largest premium display phone, meaning it will have a larger display than the G6 and the V20's 5.7-inch display. The display resolution could be 1440 x 2880 pixels, like the G6, and the phone could feature a secondary display, like the V20.
LG will reportedly start producing OLED panels in July, with some of them going into the V30 smartphone, while others will be shipped to Chinese phone makers. LG Display will also focus on increasing its efforts in OLED , taking on big players in the market such as Samsung Display.
