As we mentioned in our previous article, Microsoft , last week Fluent Design System, known to many of you as Project Neonit didn't mention Windows phones at all.
But since universal apps work across all devices, including computers, phones, tablets, and even HoloLens, it makes sense that Fluent Design would also reach Windows 10 Mobile smartphones. Of course, there are many who believe that this update will come at a price.
Some features that Fluent Design brings to computers will not be available on smartphones, such as the background, as it does not make sense on mobile devices.
Acrylic material is used in computers to show what is behind the window, but on a smartphone where windows run in full screen there is no need for such a feature.
Beyond that, Fluent Design could bring a significant redesign to Windows Phones, although at first glance it seems like Microsoft isn't going for that. Essentially, Windows Phones get the Fluent Design improvements thanks to the idea of universal apps, so without this approach, Windows 10 Mobile devices would have stayed with the original design.
The Fluent Design System is supposed to be finalized before the release of Windows 10 Redstone 3 in September, so the next builds will bring substantial improvements to this issue.
Regarding phones, the Redstone 3 update is not so certain as several sources claim that Windows 10 Mobile is under maintenance. So the next few days will enlighten us.
