While coding, programming, software and hardware configuration are always considered fields in which men dominate, there are many women who dared to choose these fields and even become quite successful. In reality, researchers believe that women, in some cases, are considered better coders than men, but only if they hide their gender!

According to a study conducted in 2013, women represent a very small percentage of software developers, which is 11.2%. The majority of companies in Silicon Valley showed that women held less than 20% of technical positions in their businesses in 2014, as reported by Business Insider.

Additionally, the website HackerRank, which is a free coding practice website that allows programmers to improve coding by solving challenges and companies to find top software developers, also agreed with the statistics, as it appears that only 20% of women respond to challenges.

To discover which are the 10 countries that have the best female coders, the HackerRank team leveraged its data regarding the women who participated in the challenge.

While Russia topped the list, the United States failed to appear in the top 10 countries, coming in at 14th^place .
