Q4OS is a Debian-based Linux distribution designed to offer a familiar environment (Trinity) to the Windows user who is considering changing operating system.
The distribution features simple accessories and provides stable APIs for complex third-party applications, such as Google Chrome, VirtualBox, and various development tools.
It is a fast and powerful operating system that offers a highly productive work environment, with the security, reliability, long-term stability, and conservative integration of verified new Linux features.

The system is distinguished by its speed and very low hardware requirements. It works flawlessly on brand new machines as well as on very old computers.
The system is also very useful for virtual environments in the cloud due to its very low hardware requirements.
I tried the Q4OS Live CD and the experience was incredible. It's not one of the distributions I use, but I recommend it to those who work with Windows and want to try Linux.
From the appearance to the installation of applications, everything is reminiscent of Microsoft's operating system. If you pay attention to the images, you will notice that even the application installers seem to be from another platform..

Proprietary codecs and drivers
On the welcome screen you will easily find the option to install “Multimedia Codecs” and drivers. No problem, just click on the button and a wizard will appear. With a few clicks on “Next” you will see the “Install” option to install your codecs and drivers.
New features
The new Q4OS 'Orion' 1.8.4 is the latest stable release of the distribution and comes with various improvements and fixes.
The most important new feature is the integration of alternative desktop environments. So if you don't like the Trinity desktop, you can choose to switch to another DE that's more Linux-like: KDE, Xfce, or LXDE.
The Q4OS Orion distribution has stopped supporting LXQT and according to the developers it will return with the release of Q4OS Scorpion.
The Icedove messaging app is no longer available from the Q4OS installer, as it has been replaced by Thunderbird 45.8.
