Now there's a way to curb your child's addiction to their cell phone!
A Japanese company has created an iPhone to help parents keep their children in check so they don't get too addicted to their phones. The case, called Otomos, is fixed to the phone and can't be removed without a special screwdriver.
Otomos comes with an app that allows parents to limit their child's daily phone usage. If the child exceeds the daily limit, the phone will automatically go into sleep mode.
The motion detectors built into the case can also turn off the phone automatically while the child is walking.
Otomos, created by Momo Ltd, can also automatically send messages to parents' phones if it senses that an important event has occurred, such as an accident.
“We developed the product taking into account many opinions and concerns of parents who have children around smartphone use,” said Masato Otsu, president of Momo Ltd. “All you have to do is attach the case, so it’s very easy to use.”
The smartphone case had previously fetched around $8,000 on the Japanese platform Makupake.
The company is expected to charge around $5 per month for a two-year contract, which includes the case.
As of now, the case only seems to be compatible with iPhones, so if you're in the Android family, you'll just have to keep your kids away from their phones in another way!
