unveiling day iPhone 8 approaches, more details about Apple's upcoming smartphone are coming to light. A new report reveals that the device will be made of a stainless steel chassis, feature an OLED display , and an iSight dual-camera on the back. It will also be wrapped in glass.
The iPhone 8 is expected to debut alongside the new iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.
The iPhone 8 will be made of thin stainless steel, a significant improvement over the steel used in Apple Watches. It's not yet confirmed whether the metal will be polished like on smartwatches or will offer a matte finish.
The iPhone 8 is expected to come with slightly curved 2.5D glass on the front, similar to that on the current iPhone 7 models. On the other hand, the OLED display covering the front glass will be completely flat, thus disproving previous rumors of a curved design.
Samsung Galaxy S smartphones with curved OLED displays come with curved glass covers. Apple, therefore, chooses not to copy this design but to adopt a slightly curved OLED display instead. It should be noted that a flat design will make the production process much easier especially now that rumors of the company dealing with issues with the integration of Touch ID under the display are rife.
Many are claiming that Apple will remove the Touch ID sensor for the iPhone 8 if it fails to resolve the problem within the next month.
Finally, let us mention that the iPhone 8 comes with a dual camera setup that will improve the functionality of the AR feature.
