COSMOTE is looking for new ideas that will improve our lives in the new digital era, through the marathon innovation competition, COSMOTE HACKATHON 1. Registration is exclusively through www.cosmotehackathon.gr until April 14.
The 1st COSMOTE HACKATHON is aimed at people who specialize in programming, design, communication, and/or entrepreneurship. Utilizing all available new technologies, participants are invited to present a comprehensive, user-friendly, technological solution-model for communication in the new digital era.
"In our country, there are many people with talent, knowledge and love for technology. They generate excellent ideas every day. Most of them are unlearned. With the COSMOTE HACKATHON, we want to give them the opportunity to share their ideas for the future with people who really want to hear them, and why not, to use them. Because at COSMOTE we believe that we can build a better world for everyone with technology and innovation.", said the Chief Officer of IT Operations & Systems of OTE Group, Mr. Georgios Athanasopoulos.
The competition is held in collaboration with the Athens University of Economics and Business and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Support (ACEin).
Interested parties can apply individually or as a team of 2-5 people. Applications will be evaluated by a special committee, consisting of COSMOTE executives and academics, which will select participants for the second phase. After the second round of evaluation, participants will be selected to participate, in teams, in the final phase of COSMOTE HACKATHON, on May 13 & 14, at OTE Academy.
As part of the two-day celebration of innovation, participants will be invited to work for 24 hours in a specially designed space to complete and submit their proposal. Expert mentors from the business and academic communities will be there to support the teams, offering practical advice and guidance.
A special committee will select three winning teams. The 1st team will receive a cash prize of €5,000, the 2nd team will win advanced technology gifts from GERMANOS stores and the 3rd team will win GERMANOS gift certificates. Regardless of the committee's choices, one team will be selected by the Athens University of Economics and Business to attend a comprehensive six-month seminar of personalized consulting services and mentoring at the AUEB Entrepreneurship and Innovation Support Center.
