10 million users are trying Windows 10

The Windows Insider program was launched by Microsoft with great fanfare in October 2014, when it officially began work on Windows 10, asking users to participate in the development effort and try out new versions of each OS update early before the official launch.

The entire program has proven to be extremely successful and according to new statistics provided by Microsoft, no less than 10 million users are running this preview version of Windows 10 and helping the company develop new features or improve existing ones.

“We’ve had one of the most incredible experiences with the Windows 10 Insider program. We now have over 10 million Windows Insiders testing and using the latest version of Windows 10 on a daily basis. The feedback comes in fast and furious, they have a constant stream of what they expect, but it inspires our team and drives something really exciting every day,” explains Mehdi.

He manages to point out that collaborating with users is part of the effort to create "great products," emphasizing that responding to feedback is essential to this relationship.

“Every interaction with the customer after that is very important and we should build a deeper relationship. Customers should feel like they have joined a community—a family. Don’t be an impersonal company. Enable your fans to interact with real people at your company, people who are fans themselves. A fan isn’t just there to tell you what they think, they’re waiting to hear back, to see you take action on their feedback,” he says.
