A recent report reveals that Samsung has set a higher production limit for the Galaxy S8 Plus compared to the Galaxy S8 as the company believes the larger model will outperform in sales.
While final production numbers haven't been announced yet, it would be interesting to see how many more Galaxy S8 Plus units Samsung plans to release compared to the original S8 model. Rumor has it that the Plus's 6.2-inch display will increase the phone's price tag by at least €100 while essentially having the same performance as the Galaxy S8.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S8's 5.7-inch display is not considered small as it still falls into the large category. Apple's iPhone 7 Plus, for example, has a 5.5-inch display and is generally considered a large phone, surpassing the original iPhone 7, which had a 4.7-inch display, although the higher sales were attributed to the Plus model's dual camera setup.
Samsung has been gradually increasing the screen size of its devices in recent years. In 2015, Samsung missed its sales forecasts for the Galaxy S6 edge, with the 5.1-inch display surpassing that of the original model. It appeared that the company didn't have enough supplies to meet demand for the Galaxy S6 edge.
In 2016, the giant learned its lesson and produced more units of the Galaxy S7 edge , which managed to outsell the original model. It is acting with the same logic this time, with the S8 Plus stocks exceeding those of the Galaxy S8.
