Resident Evil 7 Cracked in Just Five Days. Denuvo Anti-Tamper, or Denuvo, is an anti-digital rights infringement or software protection technology developed by the Austrian company Denuvo Software Solutions GmbH.
Denuvo offered the best software protection on the market until 2016, but that is no longer the case. Proof? Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is being released “cracked” on torrent sites five days after its official release. The game uses Denuvo’s technology to protect itself from pirates.
The cracked version appears to work without any problems, according to TorrentFreak.
A few years ago, Denuvo technology was a nightmare for crackers, as the protection it offered was impenetrable. Some of the older games protected with Denuvo technology were never found on torrent sites, which shows that the protection technology was very strong.
Of course, as with many security solutions, nothing works forever… It all started with Rise of the Tomb Raider, which was cracked by the CONSPIR4CY (CPY) group and began circulating on torrent sites in August 2016, about five months after its release. It was the first time that someone or people had managed to break Denuvo’s protection.
This was followed by “Inside”, which CPY broke six weeks after its official release. Since then, many others have followed, such as Doom and Watch Dogs 2, to name a few.
The crash of Resident Evil 7, however, was the fastest to date, since the game was released on January 24th.
Denuvo has stated in the past that it does not give money back if the protection it offers is not sufficient.
